Is it normal in GC and higher to still not be able to use air roll left and right ?

Iam GC1 almost GC2 and was wondering if its normal too still not be able to use air roll left or right properly, iam terrible when it comes to using either or both i just use normal air roll still, lemme know if there is still high lvl players out there that cant use air roll left or right.
