Arrogance of Tomorrow
[I'm unsure if I want / should end this poem at the ______, or if I should continue with what I've written below.]
No man expects to die when the sun is in the sky
When the day is at its brightest and there is so much left to see
No man expects to die before he thinks he's done
When he looks upon the world and sees what it could be
But death cares not for man,
His desires or his fears
And when it comes for him,
Only it decides what's fair.

And in his garden sits a man
A man who's no exception
For he will see (as will we)
That death will come today
But for now he sits among the flowers
remembering who he was,
weighing who he is,
and deciding who he'll be
Yesterday he was so cruel
Locked to his ambition
Today he is so still
Chained to his regret
Tomorrow he'll be better
Freed by his intent
But death cares not for man
His desires or his fears
And today it comes for him
Still locked within his chains
