If I kill Gostoc, does he drop a Bell Bearing- and if so, will the Twin Maiden Husks eventually sell his Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone?

You only get the items the merchant sold at the time of death, it won’t update.

Yes and no. He has to be alive at the conclusion of a specific quest line to get the smithing stone.

And once he’s in there, I can’t kill him, right?
