Cartography is cool
I agree, cartography is based
Just don't measure the shoreline too closely
what's the local music scene like in Farport
Farport sprung up as an outpost for merchants of varying legality to resupply without being harassed by overzealous customs officers. Its population is a mishmash collection of ethnicities and cultures, so I imagine their music would reflect that.
Why didn't you put little boats or sea monsters in the water?
All the sea monsters live around the ex-continent to the east of this part of the world, and the boats are fighting them
That's a nice map
I used to make those all the time when I was a DM. Ran out of steam and had to quit doing campaigns though
Thanks! The inspiration to DM will return eventually, if you let it
Maybe one day U_U
Let's say I am in Daer Barding and got my hands on some wares that are not stolen, totally wouldn't raise any suspicions to anyone and were totally okay for me to have. And I need to get them to Farport as quickly and safely as possible, what would you recommend?
Passing through the mountains, walking around them through the valley or shipping around them along the coastline?
Asking for a friend of course. A hypothetical friend. In a hypothetical scenario. Of course.
Hypothetically speaking, you’d definitely want to go through the Yowling Pass (you’ll want a native guide, though). Traveling by boat is extremely ill-advised, what with the Gemstone Lord’s ships constantly patrolling the coast for pirates or Almerians. Hypothetically, of course.
İs this map for dnd ?
No, it's for a world I've been building for a while now. I'm not sure if I'm going to do anything with it; this is just for fun
Hi, how are you?
Miserable, thanks for asking! Yourself?
Same
Any civilizations that are separates from the rest of the world and have no other contact?
The Myrrs came pretty close to no contact, but they were wiped out about fifty years ago by the Almerian Empire (not pictured). Besides that, the native Vinesians were pretty isolated until the crew of the Sugarbringer landed on the shores near Stonehome. The captains of the Sugarbringer were both kinda-sorta descended from ancient Vinesian exiles, though, so I don’t know how isolated you could really call them.
I dont know shit im just a moron whore programmer but from the perspective of water flow and whatnot should there be a river on the north side of the mountain range as water runs off the mountains and into the big ol lake?. i feel like i should know more about rivers and mountains from my past lmao. im just stupid :3
Probably, but when I drew that on it looked bad. The rivers drawn are just the major waterways, though, so there might be several smaller creeks and such draining into the Great Lakes
Yeah I figured that would probably be the reason lol. Would feel like a mountain island lol
Is there supposed to be a waterfall at the lake in the mountains?
Did you consider tectonic plates when you added the mountains to the east?
This planet doesn’t have tectonic plates, all earthquakes are the result of, depending on what you believe:
-the great earth spirit stirring in his slumber
-the Hunter God’s fury (haven’t named him yet)
-plate tectonics (the madwoman who suggested this was promptly executed for heresy)
-the goddess Endor’s direct intervention to protect her people
Based splitting river
Every time someone complains about the splitting river I split it again
