I sit with control
I sit with control,
His hair stretches like tentacles
Consuming pages of books
At every corner of our room.
As my gaze meets his
He becomes shapeless smoke,
Two golden stars
Where eyes should be,
Giving off an illusion
A lovecraftian shape,
Free of being
Unable to comprehend.
I come to him as a man
Threatening to become beast.
He asks many questions
Each leading to more.
His hold is on my emotions,
Trying to help me understand
Yet never allowing us to touch,
Creating a numbness
Fighting the pressure in my skull.
My vision blurs,
A dogs maw builds
Bones crack and form
As his voice begins to scrape.
How will he ever let me go?
Shall I ignore his words
Just let them pass me by?
Shall I join his quest for certainty
Unsure if it will ever complete?
For now, I sit with control
He knows everything and nothing
Squinting in false understanding,
Never being present
Yet detatching me still.
