Mindfully mindless
A bite of nothing, washed down with air.
Now trumpets howl without sound.
Earth ripples and drips up toward the sky.
Mirror absorbing light reveals perfections.
A bird crawls by feathers dull,
worms feast upon its song.
Now while all is wrong,
Its time to retreat to my skull.
Temple of fools, gathered round the table,
should we walk, should we try,
should we lay down and cry.
Honestly they never stop.
With all their upside down, and opposite talk.
Ignore them, or abhor them.
They’ll carry on anyway,
today at least I’m not thinking.
That way the dishes might get done.
