Poem III
I would appreciate your feedback on the poem:
.
Hail my lover.
Hail her hair burning like dawn.
Bow before her eyes as they look away from October.
Worship her ears dancing on the Beatles' song.
Kiss the Slovenian novel in her bagpack where the heroine is giving the moon a haircut.
Hail my lover.
Hail her lips kissed by women of snow and women of sea.
Praise her throat parched by songs and smallness of private fires.
Sing hymns for her voice carrying the souls of women whom light has failed to another shore.
Offer yourself to her scarred arm holding the willow basket carrying unclean centuries.
Kiss her gloved fingers as they turn on the snow.
Hail my lover.
Hail her heart breaking into a swarm of houseflies.
Laud her shoulders studded with blind creeks.
Bow before her breasts holding between them the wiry smoke of candles lit for the dead.
Dance for her tears as she warms orphan moons against her bosom.
Hail my lover.
Hail the light which is nothing but her frail body filled with fog.
Kiss her belly heavy with moths and moons.
Praise her Jean pockets filled with cheap strawberry candies from last summer.
Sing hymns for her thighs torn by the scythe of light. Hail my lover.
Hail her calves carrying our shame returned in the milk of night.
Kiss her feet unspooling loose earth into tall rains.
Worship her toenails breaking into apple blossoms.
Hail my lover.
Hail the dying earth where she walks.
