i stared at my hands,

the doctor was talking but i couldn’t understand

when i looked you in the eyes,

you gave me a smile

and told me not worry,

you would always be there

even if you weren’t

i wonder if spirits are real,

or if our souls remain

when our bodies leave

i know if you watched over me,

you’d give me a smile

and tell me not to worry
