The Deathly Hallows movie part 2 and Harry jumping from the tower with Voldemort

I know the death of Voldemort in the movie is not that widely loved by fans, but if I think about the movie on its own, it is rather impressing what Harry does right before the criticized final duel.

You know the meme where it is wondered why Voldemort didn't just grab a gun and shoot Harry as a baby? And that the explanation is that he wanted to do the deed with magic? Well, in the movie Harry didn't consider himself being above such muggle banalities as guns. He tried every way possible to destroy Voldemort, if nothing else works then maybe a lethal jump would do it. Maybe he thought: "Voldemort fears death and wants to be immortal, but might he be even more obsessed with his hatred of me? Would he rather let himself crush to the ground if it meant that I would die as well?"

Maybe this is too far-fetched. Rowling made it very clear in the books what is the level of Voldemort's narcissism, how he places himself above mortal people and he wants to live forever. In the movie though, could this work as an interpretation, what do you think? Was Voldemort's fear of death ever highlighted in the movies?

Even if it couldn't, one thing is still obvious in that scene: Harry wasn't afraid to die anymore, he had no problem with jumping off like that. He had already been on the other side and knew it wasn't anything bad, there was life beyond. I like that scene.

(Edit: clarification.)
