Playing Through Every Choices Book, In Order (Part 67: Red Carpet Diaries, Book 3)
Hey! I'm back from another hiatus! I just sort of got burned out with Choices, and on top of that, I had a busy schedule, and so I decided to take a break from the reviews for a bit. However, I'm back now, and I have a lot to catch up on, so let's get started, shall we? I'll probably post two reviews today!
Today, we close production on our time in Hollywood as we get married, attempt to adapt our favorite childhood book series to the silver screen, and get stalked!
Next time, our lives as a rule-abiding daughter of a cop gets upended after we meet a mysterious, wild sort of boy...

Review:
There’s really not a lot to say about this book other than it is just so forced. The plot just feels like it’s trying desperately to grab onto something that isn’t there, and it is so all over the place it’s ridiculous. All of the characters’ various subplots feel cliche and forced, and the main plot with M/C attempting to make an adaption of her childhood book series is just sort of meh. Marianne is a completely forgettable, boring character, and I never really felt the connection to the book series M/C seemed to feel. It felt like a generic fantasy lol, and I get that it was a parody of Lord of the Rings, but it just wasn’t all that interesting. The wedding stuff is so ignored and pushed to the side I honestly forgot there even was a wedding at all by the end of the book. I love how your chosen LI barely has anything to do with the wedding planning at all lmao. M/C literally chooses everything, and LI just sort of meekly sits there and is fine with every decision. The option to have an open relationship was nice, I suppose, and the LI’s are still great on their own. I do feel bad for Seth romancers though, he only has like two diamond scenes in the whole book. Finally, there’s the stalker plotline. Have I said forced already? I mean, the stalker stuff could have been so interesting, and a great exploration of the dangerous side of stardom, but instead we get a lukewarm attempt at adding some form of tension and suspense to this otherwise bland book. The fact that the stalker is some random guy we’ve never seen before is such a cop-out, and also, the fact that the big baddie from the last book, Victor, gets taken out in literally one scene is so annoying. It didn’t take one diamond scene for Harvey Weinstein to get charged, now did it? Look, I know I’m being extremely negative, and I guess this book isn’t that bad, but it just is so lackluster, and it’s sad, because I genuinely enjoyed the first two books. I guess the writers just got burnt out at this point? I also have to dock my usual genderlock point. Overall, not a terrible book, but certainly a mediocre conclusion to an otherwise entertaining series. Definitely not worthy of the Hollywood U. references, though.
