This kinda fell out last night and I didn't spend much time editing it for fear that I'd lose the sentiment which was meant to be a bit nostalgic, whimsical and not too heavy..

If we could have forever

Forever for me is the time spent with you, and
Forever for you is to make everything new.
It’s seeing the sea,
with happiness in hand, 
and laughing and rolling 
around in the sand.
It’s a movie night spent
watching your new favourite feature, and
reading through poems that 
don’t believe in the future.
It’s dancing under stars,
while the music plays,
and it’s the feel of your skin 
as my eyes hold your gaze.
And as my worn-through fingers 
trace the life in your palm
it’s the rhythm in my chest 
as it finds a new calm.
It’s the feel of my hair 
as is brushes your chin,
but it’s the weight of a world
balanced on the head of a pin.
If we could have forever, 
just for one day,
I’d read you a love song
while you sing me a play.
