The mentality of valuing feelings over facts seems to be becoming more and more prevalent. But what is actually going on in a philosophical and psychological sense?

Question

I think it might be some variance of solipsism (solipsism*, in* philosophy*, an extreme form of* subjective idealism that denies that the human mind has any valid ground for believing in the existence of anything but itself. https://www.britannica.com/topic/solipsism) or some kind of unscientific hermeneutics (method or principle of interpretation. https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/hermeneutic), but it would be interesting to see what theories and thoughts people here have on the underlying philosophical and psychological grounds of it.
