TW why is it bad to self harm?

Why is it bad to cut yourself?

Everyone talks about doing what you want to your own body. Why can’t I cut if that’s what makes me feel better? People drink, pick at their skin and nails, get extreme body modifications/piercings, people dye their hair idk… what I’m trying to get at is people are able to do whatever they want with their bodies as they should. How does me cutting myself affect others? It doesn’t. I should be allowed to do so. Just bc this is looked at as “self harm” it’s not like I’m cutting somebody else, it’s myself, I want to, it makes me feel good… people smoke and do drugs to feel good and that’s normally socially accepted… Why can’t cutting be my drug????
