Do I need to file a crash report for my job??
I drive for a large delivery company ( UPS, FedEx, DHL type of company ). I got into an accident where a bicyclist ran in front of me from a side street and got hit by my truck. He broke his leg. There’s dash cam from inside and outside. I had two hands on the wheel, hazards on, and was going about 15 mph since my next stop was only a few doors down. The company has hired a lawyer but I’m not sure if I need to file a crash report myself or will this all be handled from the company? I’ve tried asking the company but haven’t gotten a straight answer. I was also told I was getting a citation in the mail but it’s been about 3 days since the accident and I haven’t gotten anything in the mail. I’m in Massachusetts and I don’t want my license to be suspended since I drive for a living. Should I just file the crash report anyways or wait to hear from the lawyer? The company and lawyer seem to think I am not at fault so I’m not sure what the procedure here is.
