Snake overwintering in our attic..?

Here in WV, it’s getting colder outside and a large black rat snake has nestled itself beneath the insulation in our attic. As long as it’s a safe place for him to be, I don’t personally have a problem with him chillin up there, but I’m not the best person to make that call since I know very little about snakes. What do you all think? Any advice/input would be appreciated. Thanks!
