Intense sugar cravings 5 weeks PP

Postpartum Recovery

I am 5 weeks postpartum with my second baby and I've been craving nothing but sugar (mainly chocolate). I continuously keep buying junk food like Hostess products (doughnuts, Twinkies, etc) or chocolate candies like Reese's and Butterfingers. It's bizarre because I've never in my life been a big sugar lover. In fact I was on the keto diet for two years before getting pregnant. I've been having a heck of a time quitting the sugar and even tried to switch to sugar free candies to make quitting easier, but the sugar free candies don't agree with my stomach...

Whenever I try to quit I feel very sluggish, crabby and headachey. I know there's bound to be withdrawal symptoms. But I can't seem to stop. I was reading this could be a symptom of PPA which I'm wondering if I have. My toddler just turned 4 and has been acting out since the baby was born which has been causing me lots of stress. I also can't sleep when the baby sleeps. My partner works night shifts from home from 2 in the morning, so I've been napping throughout the day and then staying up while he sleeps until he wakes up. My sleep schedule is out of whack. We also just found out he will be getting laid off next month. I constantly feel super anxious and sometimes depressed and will break into tears randomly.

Anyone else experience this? I plan to talk to my doctor at the 6 week postpartum appointment, but just curious as to if anyone has experienced similar symptoms.
