Getting ready to move in the next 6 months or so but I'm really stuck on how to get my bigger electronics to Sweden

So I've applied for the Sambo Visa with my wife... or by my wife... my wife lives in Sweden and I'm in Canada. We just passed the 6 month mark and have been in communication with the migration agency so I'm just starting to figure out how to move stuff to Sweden for whenever I get the go a head.

clothes, books, etc. I'm going to throw into big packing containers and take as extra luggage on my plane ride over, probably, but what I'm most worried/concerned about is my Playstation 5 and my tower gaming PC.

I know for the PC to take out the graphics card, SSD etc. anything that could be damaged with turbulence, but I'm honestly just not sure how to actually GET it across the ocean. I always hear horror stories about electronics being damaged on planes and I have no idea how much it would cost to ship it. And same goes for the Playstation 5, though it's a little smaller.

Is there a way to safely ship through the airline or would it be fine have it as baggage like the other packing containers, or would it be better to ship them via... Fed-EX or something? I have both their original boxes and packing foam but yeah... I'm just pretty unsure how to do this.

Sell your stuff and buy new. We have electronics here.

I would just take everything off and buy a new chassis here for the computer. Unless yours is very expensive and have sentimental value is not worth carrying.

This is what I did. Motherboard, cpu, gpu, power supply. The rest is obviously very easy to take with.

I paid for an extra carryon and kept it with me for my electronics. I repacked it with extra cushion/bubble wrap and everything after security and everything made it here fine. I had an Xbox s, ps4, and various other small old systems

Either way you do it, you'll need to pack it really well. I've had full-size towers shipped with Fedex/UPS and it was fine, but you need a box much larger than the tower itself and then build an insert of styrofoam so it's held securely well away from the edges and can't move around. The tower probably came in something like this when if you got it in the mail. Peanuts and bubble wrap is useless for heavy objects like this, it'll compress and let the object move.

If it's sufficiently packed, it should be fine either way, so unless it's a lot more expensive to ship it, I'd just do that. Less hassle.

Hi there! I'm moving to Sweden this week and I am going the same route as you with extra checked luggage. I also have a big gaming pc and I plan to take out everything except the motherboard and CPU, tape down any loose wires, then pack in my case with bubble wrap and newspaper. As for the other parts, I will be taking them in hand luggage. I'll let you know how it goes :D
