Invoker Question: Blink & Force Staff on Invoker

Is this overkill? I've been picking it up alot recently and it seems like it's helped me become a lot stronger. Blink in for a chase or drop and ice wall, leaving your force staff to get back out again or to FS an allie away from danger. So what do the Invoker players or Reddit think about this?
