In Pokemon Gold's Pokedex entry, Lanturn is said to emit a light so bright that "it can illuminate the sea's surface from a depth of over three miles". Is it possible?

Lanturn is a water/electric type pokemon that looks like an anglerfish, and in its Gold version's pokedex description, it says: " The light it emits is so bright that it can illuminate the sea's surface from a depth of over three miles."

How we got to this debate? Well yesterday I posted this, and below the 1st comment the debate resurfaces. Some cite an old calculation that proves it is impossible for Lanturn to achieve such feat, for example in this post https://www.reddit.com/r/CharacterRant/comments/62zfph/move_aside_pokedex_magcargo_gardevoir_and_machamp/

However, some answers in my own post speculated and claimed the math used above ^ was incorrect.

In this image https://i.imgur.com/PAclAQ3.png you would find the Anime and Games entries for Lanturn and a biological description of it. May come in handy.

So as someone who never learned physics (in fact, my first physics course starts in 2 weeks and havent started preperations oh shi) I come to ask for your help:

Can Lanturn illuminate the sea surface from such depths ?
