Occurrence

Poem

I didn’t plan to love you;

you happened to me.

In a trench coat

with that hair,

that I’ll never stop longing for the feel of.

You were just there:

confused, sparkly eyes, glorious,

and I tumbled into you

like I was fourteen again,

rolling down the green hills.

Like I was walking along the edge of a desert,

thirsty;

you were water.
