Help a newb out - AI defense
Hi guys I haven't played a FIFA game in a really long time and just got back into it and I can't understand how the AI defense works or if I'm missing some settings
I noticed if I do not control the CBs they do not pressure the opponent forwards and will just run sort run next to them and let them score? What's going on here?
I started just not switching players and watching how the CBs function and it seems as if the game is waiting for me to switch to the CBs and defend or otherwise the AI will just do nothing and allow the other team score.
I hopped on the "Be A Pro" mode where I'm just a forward and the CB will just allow the other team to score on every possession and the other team scored 12 goals since the AI won't' defend.
Hopefully someone can explain what's going on here since I only really just want to have a realistic simulation game where I can watch the AI's play and not get involved all that much but it seems this game does not allow it?
I'm playing very vanilla Arsenal career mode on legendary settings and I haven't touched any settings at all

You need to defend manually in this game.
But is there a way not to manually defend? I like to watch AI vs AI and I like simulations and not mashing buttons and trying to be the best FIFA player. This game was marketed as the most realistic simulation so I thought it was up my alley
Ofc there is. Don't stay to passive and quick press with defenders then switch to a midfielder again. The aii are also smarter than in previous versions imo.
No no no I want to stay on a player and just completely watch AI play vs AI without any input from me, I like to run and watch 90 minutes simulations and sometimes lock on a pro and play for a bit.
