One Day
I've grasp my shovel again
How deep will I pry this time?
How far will I go?
Leaving the ones I love most
My hands grow callous
My heart soaking in malice
This resentment is of self
This anguish caused by the hand I've dealt
They all play in the sun
While I stand in their shadow
How has this path been made?
What materials were used to leave my mind in such decay?
Maybe it was the days
The days I spent away
Away from those who love me most
Away from the ambition and motivation
I once cherished so deeply
Now the depths of my regrets can no longer be filled
HOWEVER,
This endeavor is not over
While I slumber sober below piles of dirt
Though these wounds truly hurt
I lay here with a slight smirk
My heart its still beating
My thoughts are never fleeting
They are always present
A gift from the one who forsees my vision
So you can all wait
You can all forget what was once said
The expressed lungs my tongue often relayed
This race has slowed to a crawling pace
But the sprawling words written across my soul will stay
And one day truly
Resonate
This is a super rough draft of something I recently wrote any feed back is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for taking the time to read it.
