Name Translation - Jakolins

Me and my friend have spent the evening searching for the meaning of their Latvian surname, and can’t find any kind of translation so we decided to look for a Latvia subreddit. Apparently the suffix -ins means “small”, but we would really appreciate a translation into English!! Thank-you in advance :)
