i take my vices in twos

i like my nutella
on whole wheat bread

i drink my coffee
with salad mix from vons

i ease the edge with nicotine
but not without a glass of water

i feel the need to write and create
after playing videogames for six hours

i take a long walk
before i even think to go out drinking

i only take my vices
if virtue is alongside it

so why
why is it that when i think of us
i feel like eating salad
