06 A3 2.0T FSI bleeding fuel pressure

Requires double prime for a strong start, hooked up a pressure gauge to the high pressure pump and observed pressure bleeding while the engine sits (not running). Between the high pressure fuel pump, the check valve on the fuel rail, the check valve on the pump, and the regular fuel pump I don't know where to start to find the bleed.

Anyone seen this before?
