The Fornect Flower

Poem

This peculiar flower stands quietly in between offset rocks riddled with moss. How it got there seems to be a wonder and often ignored.

The stem twilled within itself spreading from the base of the foundation, moving through the crevasses, and then upward; memorizing your gaze through its delicate patterns.

These twists and turns dance in a seemingly chaotic trance drawing you in closer. The luminescence reflected from its pedals are blinding yet welcoming.

Approaching the flower, the dew drops allow you witness a variety of colors you didn’t believe to exist. Unaware of your footing, the pedals bashfully open up like a mistress exposing her soft bare shoulders inviting rays to gently lay its lips.

The sudden aroma overtakes every sense in the soul, leaving you craving more.

In the core of this flower lays a puddle of water with the stolen stars from the night sky. The liquid sways calmly within its boarders inviting you for a waltz.

You lean in to caress the corolla with the tip of your index leaving you overwhelmed by its texture. The silky outer layer puts high thread sheet counts to shame.

Aroused and intrigued, you reach in its pistil to sip on the nectar. The robust flavors drown your palate as if laying down in a field of candied coconuts.

Unbeknownst, your veins begin to thrust at full throttle exceeding it’s required needs.

As you return for another sample while shaking from withdrawals, your stomach erodes the more you consume. It is bliss you seek or perhaps a distraction, making yourself vulnerable for a brief second of empty ecstasy.

Forever never connecting the signs, you continue until there is no more you.
