Weird issue with HP Envy x360 13-ay0275ng
Hi, my friend has issues with his HP Envy x360 13-ay0275ng, namely it non-reproducibly doesn't turn on the display while booting. We think it's just the display because it works just fine if you plug in an external display. We tried out Windows and several linux distros all with the same result.
The reason why we think that it is not a hardware issue is, that we
a. already sent the computer to hp themselves two times, each time getting it back with new hardware but still not working
b. this first occurred after a BIOS update that windows did and sometimes it reliably works for a time after resetting everything.
If anybody has the same issue and maybe even a solution help would be greatly appreciated. If not, it would at least be good to find out how to get hp to fix the issue, if it's a hardware issue as sending it in more times won't work as my friend has to rely on this machine.

I have the same problem on my new Envy x360 laptop. After screen saver time out it could not wakeup. If I use second monitor, it sometime bootup display will be on the second monitor but not the laptop screen. If you restart the computer after that (on the second monitor) then the laptop screen may show up. I think it is BIOS or driver problem, not the hardware problem too. Anyone has solution for this annoying problem?
My friend ended up reverting their purchase, he got another laptop, they could not solve it and the situation was not bearable whatsoever.
