Untitled - rough draft
Another book you will never finish
The plot too complex for you to manage
So, before the climax of the story
The covers are united
To never be opened by you again
The very idea of the book
Takes a backseat in your mind
Just another ghost in your memories
Too faint to remember or see
/
Unwanted you get rid of it
Donated to the corner op shop
Sitting amongst the other books and their dusty covers
Becoming mildewed and stiff
The title becoming more faded with each month that passes
Until it is barely visible
/
If it were to be picked up again
It would be set back upon the shelf
No one wants something so worn and used
And as the clock continues to tick
The title that bears my name is gone
Now just a faded ideal
Not to be remembered by anyone
