An ambivalent execution

Poem

I remember how you would unlock my hand with your fingers

Oh what a sensation

To navigate the lines in your hand like braille

They read that you loved me

How I long to remember that feeling

So I rest my head on this cinder block though I see your strength weakening

Wondering if the axe will be dropped or swung

Yet that sanguine temperament remains within

Wistful it may be

And I justify my willing peril for a reward so pure
