If I had rushed, if I had run

I'm sure I could have caught that one

Oh, how would that have changed my day

Would I have had more time to play

Would there have been an accident

Which my slight lateness did prevent

We imagine a difference

In the future and circumstance

But what proof have you ever seen

To show difference could have been

Each branch of road you take in life

Can lead to joy can lead to strife

But what we see we might not 'get'

Only our roads have our footsteps met
