I'm sorry I don't

Love you anymore

But your hands around my neck

Won't force the words from my throat

I don't look at you

The way I used to

But the bruises around my eyes

Don't paint you in a better light

When you bite my lips

As we kiss

I wish you'd pull them off

Because they've been tainted by you

You can squeeze my hand

Until I don't feel it

But the other is reaching

For something to cut my restraints

I can cover the marks

Smear on thick makeup

But it won't mask my disgust

At what we have become

​

You can take my dignity

Throw it on the floor

But I'll pick it back up

On my way out the door
