As I Wait

Poem

Twittling thumbs on the wheel

Munching on a happy meal

Change the station as I brake

How much longer will this take

Luckily, I have no place to be

I continue to wait, patiently

Light a smoke and take a drag

Receive a cussing from a nag

Shift the tranny into park

Might be here til after dark

Horns honk as they pass

Threats to kick my stupid ___

Behind, I hear the tires squeal

Give me awful looks that kill

People can be so very mean

As I wait for the sign to turn green
