A Girl

Workshop

1 2

A beautiful girl caught my eye

She filled the sky

Like fireflies

Her eyes greener than a pasture

Her smile brighter than the sun

Made me feel like I Ahad won

What had I done

To deserve such a sight

I walked toward her

With my head standing straight on my shoulder

The trees howling

In the wind

The leave twisting and twirling

As the sun still rose

My courage as I moved

Step by step slowly fleeting

My thoughts depleting

My heart beating

Boom Boom

Boom Boom

As I walk to say hello

I committed the scene to memory

A girl with auburn hair

The sun behind her back

Rising in the east

Her eyes as green forest

knowledge sparking in them

Ready to be set ablaze

Anywhere she look

I wave to say hello

Wondering just how far this will go

She moves a little closer

With the grace of a gazelle

All she said was “hey”

And with one word I was entranced

She had the voice angels dreamed of

And looks the rivaled even mother nature

I sent a prayer in my head

Saying “please, oh please let me find the thing to say”

I think I said “hi”

One little word

All I could muster

Sweat on my neck

Dripping down to my hand

Legs stiff as a board

Like I was stuck in sand

She proceeded to talk

Me, I was captivated on every word

Drawing me in as if she was hook

Just think how good this felt

How I wished to encapsulate this moment

Till I said what I really wanted to

I did what I had to do

Summoning all ounces of strength

I asked for a date

She snorted and laughed

“Took you a while”

That when my shoulders relaxed

My pressure relieved

Like Atlas when he let down the heavens

I was finally  free

Side by side

Hand in hand

We walked away

A smile plastered on my face

As I got the girl even the gods could not contend for

The girl that I adored

This girl caught my eye

So I finally said hi
