How do I reach out to X Demon? Reaching out to spirits 101

Hello to all newer magicians who are ready to reach out to our lovely Demonic Kings, Queens, Knights, and Dukes. A common question I see around reddits and discord groups is how do I reach out to x Demon? This is something that often pops up but that isn’t answered to what I would see as a complete starter guide to reaching out. What I am going to offer here is that guide! But please keep in mind that this is really a starter guide and the work will still be up to you. Whatever I say here should be taken with a grain of salt as should all authors or fellow magicians that you speak to. My words are never law and I can be wrong or you could have a different experience then me! And that is alright, we are still magicians trying to master our own world.

With that introduction in place lets get into how to reach out to the demonic. Again this is my own opinion and some people may have different experiences then me:

How to know if your ready:

• Ask yourself
• Understand that this is something that cannot be ‘taken back’
• Have some good magic theory (understand how magic works)
• Be able to protect yourself, know how to banish, and cleanse

First the backbone of working with the demonic is being able to hear, understand, feel, and communicate with them. These are done with subtle senses. Subtle senses are within everyone. Everyone has some type of subtle sense that gives them information but most of the time they just haven’t focused on it. Its as natural as breathing but in order to strengthen that subtle sense you will have to: A) focus on it via mediation or other method of focus and nurture and B) Foster it so it can grow and give you more reliable feedback that you can understand.

There are many many ways of doing the above however one of the starting points that has two fold purpose is learning some form of divination tool or method. Tools aren’t needed for everyone however many people needed training wheels before they learned the balance needed to ride a bike. Tools are useful because they help us! Rejection of them doesn’t help anyone, the same applies to people who overly rely on them.

You must learn some form of divination to help foster the growth of your subtle sense. No matter the subtle sense, Divination is key to helping it build as it teaches you to think less from logic and strict words to symbolic and understanding suggestions. No matter if you are Atheistic or Theistic learning divination to assist with communication is paramount to success.

The Demonic do reach out through dreams, there will be times during lucid dreams where you will have a face to face conversation with a Kind Solar King. However those aren’t common and won’t be the majority of your communication between them.

The Demonic speak through suggestions and symbols. You will have to learn how to vet and analyze what you are given when you reach out. It will most likely not be them standing in front of you and saying xyz. It would look more like you mediating on that certain Solar Kings symbol with a question in mind and you see a type of flower, then you see a picture of a rabbit, all with a bright sense of joyfulness.

Write that down and begin taking the message apart to see the information you where given. Even if you think you saw something, or maybe you think you saw half a cat but it went back to blackness. Write it down.

Anyway, returning to reaching out to the demonic you will have to ask the biggest question: Who. Who within the vast list of gods and domains do you feel most drawn toward. Who did you pick out of everyone else? Who has been brimming at the top of your mind for a reason you don't understand just yet?

That is a hard process. Sometimes we feel a very strong pull to a King or to a Duke and it makes it easy. Other times they all seem welcoming while being all equally intimidating. You will have to pick your who. You will have to go through that process on finding who on your own. I’ve written how to tell if someone is reaching out already so please go find that.

When you have the who you will need to get ready and do research. Research is key to any demonic adventure. Treat it like you are about to write a research paper for a college level course:

-Find any historical references

-Look for any text where they appear (Even the mention. And yes fiction can be good to)

-Find variations of their name

-Look into any historical accounts where they were mentioned. (do not take these as facts)

-Dive into their offices and what they teach

-Look into their temperament

-Find any facts that apply only to them. (Some demons like to stress their title while others dont. This is good information to know)

-Look into what offerings they might like (this can aline with color or title sometimes)

When viewing other magician accounts:

-Think critically and know your experience with them will be unique

-Take notes on how it was said they appeared to them (not so much appearance wise but how they showed themself, smell, sensation, sound, ect)

-See what method of teaching they used with that magician(again the Demonic are highly personalized however they do tend to have patterns)

You might ask me, “Why do I have to know all this stuff? Can’t they just tell me themself?” and the answer yes and no. The demonic do tell us things about themselves, I’ve been shown vast lands and various time periods in glimpses however would you just start info dumping all your experiences on someone you just met? Never mind the fact that they might not even be able to hear you or understand what you were saying.

While some demons have no issue answering questions about themselves the main point of studying them is to ensure your own safety. When we start to expand out subtle senses we purposefully break our own reality. By breaking our own reality down in small bits we are willingly falling into dangerous category of not defining real and not real, but its needed to reach out to the demonic. When you break your reality in a controlled method then not only can the demonic reach out to you but so can other spirits.

Note: when I say break reality I do not mean literal I mean straying away from the widely accepted current understanding of reality. People even now understand very little of the true nature of our world. Reality is unseen by us constantly due to our limited number of senses. We know for a fact that there are colors we humans cannot see due to our limited sense. We also know there is radiation that we cannot see yet it affects us massively. That is one thing that informs my Theism in demons. I understand that I cannot see everything within our ever growing reality. The only thing that I can do is quiet what my physical senses tell me and focus on my subtle senses in a ever subtle world that goes unseen.

You open the door that cannot be closed easily. By reaching out to the demonic you have to understand that we are mainly material and they are not. There is just as a complicated “spiritual”/subtle world out there as there is a material world here. When you reach out for the first time and stress your subtle senses to feel around, you are basically like a bambi standing up for the first time.

Many people and many spirits want to eat bambi.

By researching who you are reaching out to it not only increases your connection with them but when you reach out to them you can ask them questions about themselves that they should know.

The demonic have a fairly clear energy signature that becomes more apparent the longer you are with them. But when first reaching out, like Bambi you can’t really tell who is who. Some spirits will lie and claim to be the spirit you are reaching out to. They will lie and actively harm you.

I could go into depth about how to identify a trickster spirit and what trickster spirit even is but I’ll save that for another post.

After you have a decent amount of information build up about the demon who you’ve chosen now it is time to go into ritual and actually talk to them. My advice for getting ready for a ritual to speak with them is to set their sigil under your pillow and chant their enn before you go to bed. You might have some interesting dreams.

before reaching out make sure you have at least three ways to banish something if someone whos not supposed to be there shows up. Make sure you know how to banish, cleanse, and protect yourself.

My closing thoughts:

When reaching out to a spirit for the first time be as informed as you can and ensure you have a method of communication that you understand. Research who you are reaching out towards and be ready to accept the test and challenges they offer you. The demonic are all vast and unique. Each challenge they give to you should be taken in stride. As you reach out make sure you have the proper protections from harmful spirits and that you can hear them or speak to them. Be careful and know that if its your first time you might get something grand! Or you might just get a cold chill and cards encouraging you to try again.

Either way it goes, never stop questioning and think critically. Treat everything like a science, if something doesn’t work figure out why. If something does work, figure out why. And of course my words are never law.
