i overthought the title of this poem.
a throbbing headache
lingers in my brain
if my mind's a palace
i'm a prisoner, confined in chains
peace of mind is a virtue
a luxury not meant for people like me
i'm trapped, begging for mercy
for freedom i beg and beg and plea
every word of every conversation
every second replays in my head for hours
once beautiful moments turn into disasters
everything has thorns, even flowers
why am i like this, is my mind cursed?
my thoughts scream louder than my voice
my thoughts drown out what's outside
my thoughs are a constant background noise
i find myself longing for an end,
longing for the silence of death
maybe i'll finally find harmony
as i'm taking my last breath
does she like me?
does she find me pretty?
does she enjoy my company
or does she speak to me out of pity?
i think they hate me
maybe i should stop speaking
am i being too much?
maybe i should just stop fucking breathing.
endless questions curse me,
haunt me as im chasing sleep
if my brain is an ocean
i'm drowning in the deep
