Beat Names?

I keep seeing people asking for the names of beats. I think we all know that rudiments have names, and genres of beats (e.g. basic rock, jazz…). But since when do specific rhythmic patterns have names? The only one I can think of is a blast beat…. And even that has variations.

Is this people wanting the name of one so they can Google a YouTube instructional?
