Does the front end framework I've imagined already exist?
I recently developed a relatively simple web app using Django as a back end and jQuery and Leaflet on the front end.
The main div shows a map with a series of points (representing schools), and the sidebar shows those same schools as a scrollable list.
If the user clicks on the map OR the sidebar, a few things happen:
- The map scrolls to the school
- The school is highlighted on the map
- The school is also highlighted on the sidebar
- The sidebar displays some detailed information about the school
Because these same effects can be triggered by different user interactions, I split my functions into two categories: "actions" and "reactions".
My question is: is there an existing conceptual framework that resembles this? Or a different frontend system that would be better suited to it? I kind of stumbled onto this structure, but I'd like to read up on how other people approach similar problems so I can improve the architecture of future web dev projects.
