Same. Fuck the space-magic class in a space-magic shooter right?

I think the Shadebinder buff is huge. Smarter Coldsnap grenades. Loosened cooldown on Glacial Harvest and any primary weapons will be buffed by Rending. And as someone who enjoyed Stormcaller in almost every GM, I’m excited for a more amped up arc soul.

Dawnblade just feels like an afterthought needed for DPS phases now.

As a warlock main, I feel overwhelmingly blue-balled by the patchnote preview.

Deadfall really just needs to generate large amount of orbs based on what gets tethered. Iirc that’s currently tied to kills with mobius, but that seems like a dated concept with the 3.0 reworks. Feel like that would help lean in more into the support feel

If they can make the suppression effects from Tether trigger instantly I would be so happy.

Note that Deadfall will likely remain lacking and will need more changes to really find a place. With Orpheus Rigs around, Mobius will still be getting both a longer debuff and more damage output, and most places where Deadfall is good for adds something stasis (usually a Shadebinder) is better.

It's nice that they do clearly have their eyes on Nightstalker, but the change that's bringing Nightstalker back into relevance is the nerf to div, not these changes to Tether that actually mean very little. They're also still ignoring the main pain points of 3.0 Nightstalker, which is the loss of support capabilities and invis-only neutral game it's been left with.

I still cannot process the justification for this implementation. Heat Rises and Icarus Dash should have been one thing

An entire aspect to JUST Icarus dash is still insane to me

Airborne combat will never be enjoyable while we have modifiers and mechanics they actively punish that style of play. Grounded as well as damage phases that require DPS inside of plates or auras. Either let airborne be an actual integral part of the class and let us actually fly around. Or kill the idea.

>12 seconds of solid debuff time, paired with a divinity, is going to be crazy for DPS phases.

It’s going to be the exact same as div has been on it’s own prior to this. Now you just need to add a tether if you want to be doing the same damage you were before the div nerf.

ALSO THEY STILL REFUSE TO ACKNOWLEDGE CELESTIAL FIRE NOT PROCCING SUNBRACERS DAMMIT

Now it’s time for Hunters to know what it’s like to be thrown into a Well (of Radiance) by the Titans

From what they've said in the TWAB and on Twitter, Nightstalker will be secure.

The nerf to Moebius Quiver was also done alongside a buff to Deadfall. They want the OG Destiny 1 Tether strength/duration to be a thing again, and now it can be. 12 seconds of solid debuff time, paired with a Divinity, is going to be crazy for DPS phases. Hunter went from optional to as integral as a Well in one TWAB.

As far as the invisibility nerfs go, I think they'll be tweaking Gyrfalcon's Hauberk and messing with the "it's harder to see invisible players the higher your FPS" thing that's been occurring. They're also going to be working diligently to make sure any changes to PvP Invisibility don't affect PvE.

Hunters are being regarded with much care and attentiveness. Can't say the same for Dawnblade in the slightest. The subclass remains homeless. Is it supposed to be aerial combat focused? Healing focused? Scorch focused? Who knows! This TWAB sure didn't say anything about it.

The lack of any info on either Daybreak or Phoenix Dive was easily the most disappointing part of the TWAB for me.

Both abilities just feel awful now.

It's not a buff, it's a bug fix. They just accidentally reduced the DR in one update. Titans subclasses still need a lot of help. From Sentinel hit detection to FoH lasting for 5 seconds and doing laughable damage it's all sad

not really the right place for it, but whats a good solar titan build now? havent played it since last season and with the loreley nerf and restoration nerf, not sure whats the go-to build

Void titans are getting a huge buff via oversheilds getting 25% more dmg reductions. If anything I'd say titans will now have 4 totally solid subclasses

Lance as a DPS focused nova would be awesome

I only started playing Destiny in February this year so anything before I have not experienced. Just was using Nova and Well in comparison to the other supers. I do not know what Lance and shatter was sorry and so cannot truly make comment on Void before 3.0 but I do know that Arc and Solar for locks needs attention because I was around prior to 3.0 for those subs. Really hoping Strand will be Warlocks time to shine 😜

I wish there were changes to nova bomb tbh. The initial explosion on slowva tends to destroy the smaller seekers way too often, resulting in the waste of a super. Vortex nova bomb is also extremely underwhelming. I wish they had brought back Lance or Shatter as options for nova bomb.

It's because Titans have been disgustingly broken for a while

Lol what? Cuirass is weaker than both Blade Barrage and Gathering Storm with Star-Eaters. Also I’m pretty sure there’s a Burning Maul build that out-damages it. Cuirass hasn’t been top DPS for awhile.

Even with Cuirass, all Hunter supers (blade barrage, gathering storm, golden gun) with star eaters greatly surpass thundercrash. Even Mobius with orpheus is better than t-crash with the cuirass.

Lor is still the most OP exotic in pve and they have had the best dps super since cuirass released.

My issue is more with Warlock Daybreak and Chaos reach supers not being up to scratch. Well is great and so is Nova bomb but any other super is just meh. I like that Arc soul got a buff but would be nice to have a decent super for Arc-locks. I also feel for Titans cos they seem to get nerfed a lot imo.

just give them a spectral blades knife melee

I just want fucking smoke bomb to do SOMETHING other than a pissant debuff or another invisibility tool. Bring back corrosive smoke or something, let me use it as an offense option. It’s so fucking bad.

Tbh you can tell they’ve been working towards designing encounters that make Well less useful - all of Vow and most of Duality for example. It’s just harder to notice because half of the recent endgame content has been reprised from D1 (VoG, KF) and they can’t really rework those raids in a way that would make Well worthless without changing them up beyond being recognizeable.

I have faith that they’ll continue to design Raid/Dungeon encounters in such a way that makes Well less mandatory by minimizing the amount of “stand still and DPS for 20-30 seconds” encounters we have

See, the thing with this is buffing daybreak does absolutely nothing to make well stronger. And 3.0 arguably made well stronger outside of support. You can now run nothing but damage neutral and still get to use well unlike before.

Well of Radiance was a mistake. It'll probably always be the best PVE super in the entire game for endgame content; zero risk, but ultra high reward basically. As long as Well remains the way it is, I don't think they'll do much to alter or buff the neutral game.

It seems obvious to me that they are unwilling to give large buffs to solar warlock as long as well of radiance continues to be a requirement for all endgame PVE.

The class will forever pay for the sins of having the greatest PVE super ever added to the game, and until they rework or completely neuter the super, they aren’t going to also give the class a potent neutral.

Granted, downvote me all you want, but solar warlock isn’t even *bad* it’s just boring and very unexciting. With only a few mods you can make the fusion grenade spam completely nuke anything in front of you, but it’s definitely not a fun or engaging subclass, which they should fix.

They’re paying an unfair price for the sin of Well of radiance

PVE players always get bad end of the stick due to PVP gameplays. So what is new?

Dawnblade is so bland. It basically has one aspect. It’s decent but pretty one dimensional.

PLEASE GIVE NIGHTSTALKERS MORE MELEE OPTIONS PLEASE IM BEGGING YOU!

Melee makes you invisible, melee with Khepri's gives you wallhacks

Every Nightstalker has two ways to go invisible on demand/short cooldowns

Omnioculus gives you 2 smokes, so you have 3 ways to go invisible at a moment's notice so you can engage however you want

Gyrfalcon gives you a damage boost right out of invisibility

If you're so-so at the game invisibility will help you dominate lower tier players. If you're good at the game invisibility will help you dominate everyone

I just took Night stalker into Crucible for the first time. Invisibility had utility, but most of the time people saw right through.

My other abilities were completely useless. I had a grenade bounty that I made zero progress on all night, and I tried them all. If there is a function of the Nightstalker melee it escapes me. The super is worth on average two kills per game, but that's the same for them all.

So essentially they had no idea what they were doing with subclass reworks so the solution will be subclass 4.0.

You didn’t read it close enough, Nightstalker is getting both a buff and a slight nerf. Both sound reasonable and well considered. It never cease to amaze me how some only think the change they want is the right thing.

When was this? Because all I saw was that they’re looking to nerf it in pvp

They did acknowledge Nightstalker and said they’re working on it in the longer term.

that is ignoring the main complaints about nightstalker, that while it is useful, it is EXTREMELY one note in PvE.

Today's TWAB was written from almost purely PvP perspective. All comments were mentioning whenever something was a pain point in Crucible, and all concerns were pointing towards Bungie being hesitant to buff things because they could get out of hand in Crucible.

Both Nightstalker and Dawnblade are best respective subclasses for PvP, so they are still used, and because "popular things cannot be bad" there is no incentive to buff them.

As for PvE, I'd argue that both subclasses are, respectively, also most used ones in PvE, Dawnblade for sure, but numbers could be slightly more even for Nightstalker.

I think Bungie needs to start splitting sandboxes. Amount of nerfs PvE gets because of PvP is getting ridiculous.

Yeah. I don't know how Trappers Ambush or Chaos Accelerant (void-lock grenade aspect) are one slot aspects. None should be, but these two especially.

Didn't they say in today's TWAB that any significant tuning will be post-Lightfall? So they can include Strand with it.

Deadfall sucks. Buffing the duration isnt going to help the one trick pony that nightstalker is now. Bungie isnt listening to comments, they dont read posts. Every day there a post about nightstalker, it gets tossed into the garbage can.

Bungie are warlock mains, lets be real and honest.

No Nightstalker or Dawnblade acknowledgement?
