The book isn't Peter Rabbit since I remember the rabbit was an adult and didn't wear clothes(?) though I think the girl rabbit and mouse wore dresses or just bows on their heads. If it helps, there was also no humans or animals in the book. Now that I think about it, the plot could have been about the rabbit trying to find other rabbits/another rabbit.

I remember as a little girl I had this book (that I believe we purchased at the 99 Cents Store) about a rabbit possibly trying to survive until spring. In the background, there was always this mouse sort of copying what the rabbit was doing. The thing I definitely remember is that the book ends with the rabbit and mouse meeting a female rabbit and mouse and they respectively start their own families the following spring. The cover of the book was white and the illustrations looked similar to Guess How Much I Love You/art by Anita Jeram but the animals didn't have tiny black dots for eyes. If I did get it at the 99 Cents Store, then it was a very beautiful and intricately drawn book for something that possibly came from a dollar store.
