Are you still going to your Skillbridge? I hear the folks at HQMC are kicking back SB packages for this company. I’ve been waiting on mine for nearly 4 weeks now.

First You’d need to email the email they have on the dod skillbridge website, guys name is Ray he is the armed forces director, just to show you’re interested in the program, and he’ll email you a sheet to basically fill out, which involves choosing your dive shop. He’ll be your liaison in connecting with the shop of your choice, he’s also extremely helpful if you have any sort of questions or concerns. And he’ll also send you a kinda of timeline sheet too that’ll say what you’ll be doing weeks 1-3 and weeks 3-5 etc. All the way until how ever long you get approved for.

So really steps for me would be:

- Seek out a dive shop with the curriculum, schedule, etc. that I would like to attend
- Apply for 6 months of skill-bridge, get approved
- work with the dive shop I’ve chosen in order to sort out my certification process and whatnot

Sound about accurate?

Just found the naui skill bridge option yesterday. Is anyone currently in or recently complete? Specifically looking for info on how to get involved with one of the shops that does the dives on live aboard in the Bahamas/Caribbean as mentioned on the skill bridge website.

I’m actually about to start mine next month, but from what I gathered it’s really shop dependent. Some shops having you solely focused on getting each of your dive certifications while some have you also work in the shop too.
Program length depends on how long you get approved for, which also dictates which scuba certification you work up too.
If you get the full time approved you can get up to dive master and scuba instructor.
For the in classroom and dives, again shop dependent, some dive shops you can go to have a pool and do frequent dive trips that they include in your cert, some shops don’t even have an actual shop it’s just a single instructor.
Every shop is different and can offer different things, you can shop around and pick the shop that you feel best fits for you, but they have to be a NAUI VA testing center. If you want more information lmk!

Anyone here do the NAUI skill ridge program? How long is the actual program? What does the program actually train you in? Is it daily classroom time with occasional dives for testing? I’m just generally confused as to how it works. Basically just looking for an explanation as to what I can expect from start to finish
