I am glad you and your wife found some comfort.

Thank you for this. It made my wife and i cry, but that’s nothing new these past few days. The experience is so similar for us as in that story and it’s nice to know that we are not alone.

I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my heart dog in 2020. I still come here to see if I can help other because I got so much support. But can’t lie I still cry, for all of them. I have lost 9 in my life, it never gets easier, but they are worth it.

I'm crying at my desk at work... Thank you for sharing, it's been 2 weeks and 3 days since the last time I saw my boy. As much as that story hurt to read it was so so sweet.

I’m sorry for your loss. Losing our special friends is the hardest thing ever. Dogs lives are never long enough. You did the right thing, he is looking down on you thankful for taking his pain away and making it your own.

I just lost my best friend on Monday who was with me for more than half my life. I’ve been a wreck ever since to say the least, and I’m not sure if I did the right thing. My most recent post explains it all. You’re not alone man, hang in there.

The raccoons who try to get in my trash have really taken a lot of verbal abuse this week.

For some reason this is helping me right now: having lost my dog to cancer a few days ago, along with my entire family over the past 10 years, I have this unfocused anger towards cancer. I can’t yell at it, attack it, kick it in the balls, etc… but I hate it cause it’s stolen everyone I love. Then I found out the guy who plays inigo Montoya in the princess bride lost his father to cancer around the time the movie was filmed. And when he says “I want my father back, you son of a bitch!”, the actor was saying it to the cancer that took his father. That scene means so much now… and it’s helping me to focus that anger, by redirecting it towards things I can yell at/fight/etc

Fuck cancer. It's so unfair that the already too short lives of our animals are plagued by this horrible, merciless disease.

I’m sure he knows you did everything you could for him and was just grateful that you were there with him at the end. 😢💔

I feel terribly guilty.. I feel Jack suffered. I felt my hands were tied.. I call the aspca, humane society.. No one could help.. The wait list were way too long or the que filled up quick.. 
I understand that Vets I need to make money but  no one would help.

I had heart surgery the beginning of the year and through my savings because I was out of work for five months. I had very little savings and my credit took a hit because I racked up my cards.

Jack illness was quick it happened in a few weeks. He was eating, drinking and going to the bathroom and he was very affectionate.
I did notice a weight loss with in about a 2 weeks time.. His death was quick he  started to cry  around 1 AM on Saturday morning. I picked him up and comforted him. he stop crying we fell asleep together . I told him to hang in there because I was going find a way to help him. 
 
I woke up again around 7:30 in the morning and he was crying it was a lot worse than it was earlier in the morning. I called around 

Im so sorry. The financial side of pet health care is so frustrating. I understand the vet needs to make money, but it’s hard when you know they can help your friend and you can’t afford it. 

Don’t worry about sharing your story. It’s nice to know I’m not alone in my grief and i like reading about all the animals Spock is with now. I’ve been sharing Spock’s story in other people’s comments too because i just want to talk about him and i wish more people knew him and could remember him because he really was the best friend I’ve ever had.

I am so sorry 💔 My heart breaks for you. I lost my sweet boy Jack on last Saturday.  I am devastated. I don’t know how my boy died. He was treated for respiratory infection and just in  3 weeks he was gone. Cancer didn’t  show up in his blood work.  

He lost weight and 3 weeks he was dead. The Vet just wanted me to spend more and more money I didn’t have, he wouldn’t take payment plans he  wanted me to take out a care credit credit card.
 I had pet insurance but that didn’t do anything. The monthly payments were higher than my insurance premiums because of his age. Jack went quick he dies naturally in my arms.. I couldn’t even get a vet to the house in Time to euthanize him so he could go peacefully.
I feel so bad for you.. Sorry  to inject my story in..

He was 14 years old. We rescued him and had him for 13. 

Saturday and Sunday he was fine. 

Monday he couldn’t eat without throwing up

Tuesday he stopped eating and couldn’t move really well

Wednesday he still wasn’t eating and went to the doggy doctor. They ran a full panel and saw spleen cancer and very bad numbers. The tumors are inoperable. 

This morning he couldn’t even stand. We tried to give him ice cream and some burger, but he refused it. We took him into the vet to give him a peaceful passing.

My wife and i are broken. Fuck cancer. I miss my buddy.
