Anyone else confused about how future seasons would be framed?

Future books are narrated by Lestat. Retold from his perspective, taking place in other time periods and dealing with other characters, and none of this is being relayed to Daniel.

So...how is the show going to handle this? Once Louis has told his tale, what then? Daniel goes in search of Lestat and rinse and repeat?
