tach cable holding bolt part #

usually I'm really good at using CMSNL to fiche for part numbers but for the life of me I cannot find the part number for the small pan bolt that holds the tach cable into the engine. bike is a 1972 CL350.

Wow, you're right, that's a funny one. I've got the same bike so I'll have to check in the morning to be sure, but it may be the same as the one holding in the speedo cable which I believe is #21 here (PN 93700050160A):

yep I was looking at that exact diagram cause I also needed the speedo bolt which I bought today. I was wondering if the tach bolt was the same bolt as the one that holds the speedo cable in but I wasn't sure. could you maybe confirm that they are in fact the same part, the speedo bolt is an m5x16

Looks like they should be the same. Pulled both and the oval head m5x16 seems to be correct. For whatever reason, my speedo screw is shorter than 16mm, but the tach screw most definitely is 16.

awesome, thanks. and I do have an account on there and do post some questions on there for more in depth stuff. but for small stuff like this it's quicker and easier to post on this sub.

If you primarily use your phone, use the Tapatalk app for VHT. Works really well.

It's actually vintagehondatwins.com, but we bought .net and .org too for this exact reason ๐Ÿ˜

Oh shoot; muscle memory from the "old" site I guess. Glad it works as well!

And remember, it's not a phillips screw, it's a JIS screw and you should be using JIS screwdrivers for the most common sizes (#2 and 3)
