Love FireRed and LeafGreen. Quite possibly one of the best/strongest teams I’ve ever had.

Good looking team, but a pure electric and Ice type poker are just so strong. I usually never have room for a Normal Type. I usually go a lot of hybrids to cover all bases.

Normal types only weakness is fighting and it’s completely unaffected by ghost moves. Tauros can also learn thunderbolt, flamethrower, ice beam, Earthquake, and a ton of other stuff. On top of being one of the fastest Pokémon in the original 150. Normal Pokémon are some of my favorite. But my electric coverage came from Nidoking with thunderbolt.
Also, the only viable options for me on electric are Jolteon or Raichu and neither one of them appeal to me.

Like i said its a fine team, i just like to get the special type bonus from their respective type (ie. Ice beam from an Ice type etc). I alwas thought it was tacky to see off-types using certain powers. Some make sense like Blastoise having Earthquake etc, but some are silly-- but just talking from a RP perspective. Again, fine team, i just think you benefit too much from having a pure electric and Ice type vs the final 4 and endgame. Thats my opinion.
Ya Jolteon and Zapados are the only premier options; althought ive had some runs with Magneton and the others.
But an ice/water over Blastoise is a must! Lapras and Cloyster come to mind. Good team though 💪😏👌🏼

Yeah, I don’t like using legendary Pokémon in play throughs. So, Zapdos is never an option for me. But I feel ya, it all boils down to the aesthetics for me lol 😂 I think Lapras looks pretty lame so I just could never bring myself to use him. I’d rather take on Gyarados’ 4x weakness to electric and use him as an Ice Beamer. However, my favorite Pokémon of all time is Articuno. Definitely the coolest ice Pokémon to me!

For reference, my favorite team (and their coverage): Charizard Air + Fire Jolteon: Electric Lapras or Cloyster: Ice + Water Eggsecutor: Grass + Psychic Golem or Rhydon: Rock + Ground Snorlax or Tauros: Normal
Some of ther favorites that will cause me to change the lineup: Jynx, Starmie, Zapdos, Articuno, Arcanine, Nidoking, Gyarados, Venusaur, Vileplume, Victerbell, Mew.
Its a fun game. Just beat it, i think ill do it again soon and use your lineup for kicks.

The big thing about that lineup I used is it’s easy to get early outside of Tauros. You can get either of the Nidorans early and Abra before the 2-3 gyms.
I really wanted to have a bug Pokémon in my lineup, but just found myself not using them much lol. I love Mew. Probably going to move one over from my emerald version and may have a play through with it too.

I think your next play through, you should use
Pidgeot, Persian, Snorlax, Kangaskhan, Tauros, and a Ditto LOL 😂
