Yeah the new spawns are weird. Not only did I lose most of my home spawns, but the spawn pattern of the remaining ones is inconsistent. Sometimes I login and there's 6 around my house and another time its just 2-3. And there's two spawn points right on my house, but they usually disappear not only for 30-60 mins, which is the regular spawn cycle, but for several hours at least and come back at a random time. I did an experiment by checking the game every 20-30 min without catching anything and its just confusing.

My old spawns before the update were consistent and they would refresh regularly if I didn't catch them. Im waiting for the Dratini event to confirm if its similar with event spawns. I'll be going on a short walk but outside of that I'll be playing at home.

At my local park, I used to be able to just loop around for spotlight hour and there'd be endless pokemon to catch. That is no longer the case. Once I loop around about twice, I start running out of spawns and have to go further out

Somehow my spawns seem the same or possibly even better at my house but walking is worse, quite a bit worse.

Same. While it’s not too drastic, I used to have around 3-6 more spawns than now

Same issue for me. Had 3-5 spawn points around my home. 0 now.

There used to be a big spawn area around my house. There are less spawns I can reach, but more spread out along the cul-de-sac now. I get it’s a game to go out and walk, but when I get home from work, I do t want to be walking out

Thanks to this update I get zero spawns now. I had 1 from the last "update" 2 years ago that took 5 spawns away. It seems like maybe just adding spawn points is better way instead of spreading out the points. Now there is an imbalance the other way. Plus you do know this is a very popular game in a lot of groups so its not just able bodied people playing it. God forbid people want a few spawns within couch distance.

Spreading out that sort of massive imbalance seems like a good idea to make things more fair. Most people living outside dense urban centers don't get 20+ spawns at their house. This is Pokemon Go, after all, not Pokemon couch.

Why can they just add more spwans to sparse areas rather than spread out current spawns and screw everything up. I had 20+ spawns at my house and now have 8. My usual route spawns have been cut by more than half. Their loss. Just more time with me not playing means less data they harvest.

It's ruined spawns at my local park and the city centre where I used to lap. Luckily one of the parks has not been updated so I'm having to head to that, but the area is rarely visited and out the way and not easily accessible so I'm guessing a lot of the people doing community day will be disappointed because of the new spawns.

Rather than increase spawns or properly allocate them, they seem to have just spread out the distance between spawn points. So a lot of the spawns are just in accessible areas or so out of the way it's not worth checking for.

Update to my own post.

Well I went from no spawns to 10 spawn points (rural property) and during Dratini CD that jumped to about 15 spawn points. So that was good from a personal perspective.

I travelled into town (10 mins away) and the park there which has been decent had even more spawns than previous CD's. So many that it got confusing to be honest with Dratini spawning all on top of each other.

We all know that community days and certain other events activate a bunch of additional spawn points. Will the recent spawn point redistribution affect those as well? I guess we won't know until the Dratini community day classic on Saturday, but is there any history that points to these being impacted?
