Thoughts on RBI's CBDC?

Politics

The recent development and statements regarding CBDC is quite concerning. CBDC is non fungible and every transaction from mint to unforeseeable end will be recorded in blockchain which can enable mass surveillance. The state can limit individuals on where the e-rupee can be spent in. China does it with yuan

CBDC can discourage savings as the government policy upto now has been to increase spending to via inflationary policies to stimulate the economy.

CBDC can restrict free speech as dissidents can get CBDC restricted or deducted.

CBDC can restrict movement by limiting where it can be spent on.

In short it can enable totalitarianism and pave the road to serfdom.

I wonder what r/india thinks of it.
