My LO did that at 2-4 months old for the same reason. Pretty normal

He’s soothing himself. My kiddo used to do it. Especially when sleepy

My daughter started doing that for a bit randomly. It's stimming. Shouldn't be anything to worry about, but if it's a concern there's no harm in seeing your pediatrician.

loll my son does it too and i thought something was wrong with him like maybe mentally but i think they just do it because they’re tired and they’re fighting sleep

So my baby has always done this to sooth himself, from when he was a tiny baby and he’ll even do it now sometimes (he just turned one). Apparently some babies do this because it feels good and soothing, repetitive rocking kind of thing. I’m lucky because my guy has always been a great sleeper and used this technique to sooth himself to sleep. I did have to warn babysitters about it bc it looks weird on the baby monitor lol, but my baby is completely developmentally normal and doing great! Ask your doc if you’re worried but it most likely just feels nice haha.

Does the shaking seem like he cannot control it? Like he’s not choosing to do it

Thats them learning to get to sleep, trying to sell to sooth. Mtmy guy will also smack his hand to his head and aggressively wriggle and turn his head rapidly

Mine did that when she was really small as well and now that she's almost 1 she still does it for fun and she's laughing now whole she does it

My LO does it after he eats while fussing/before going to sleep  - I was worried too, thought something is wrong - I think it’s a self soothing mechanism but none the wiser as there doesn’t seem to be a clear answer.

My son does this too. It usually means they are overstimulated and trying to soothe themselves or just tired.

Should we be concerned or take him to see a specialist? He keep shaking his head side to side every few seconds to a minute it doesn't seem normal. It just happened recently and he just turn 7 month. We took him to see a pediatrician and she say normal. We kind of worry.
