Third Party Step Sequencer for the Volca's???

I've had a Volca Sample, Volca Bass and Volca Mix for years now and have jammed with them a lot. One thing that drives me nuts though is the lack of being able to loop sequence more than four beats. So, I'm looking for a third party MIDI sequencer to use with them. I want to stay DAWless so I'm looking for something standalone, that will allow me to sequence (live) at least 2 bars (preferably four) live. Anyone doing this and have something that's working for them?

BTW, I'm an experienced Ableton Live user and I know I can do it with Ableton using External Instrument but I prefer to stay DAWless and as simple as possible (just like my lovely volcas!!!) but still be able to sequence/loop more than just one bar.
