Maybe not but it is a portmanteau, which is commonly used to name things.

H(amilton) ART (gallery) = HART

It would have to be “ Hamilton? Art? Really? Truth!”

I mean come on though the letters AGH are actually that much of a decline for you to enjoy the contents inside?

FWIW, local artists Andrew McPhail and Stephen Altena run the tongue-in-cheek HAG (Hamilton Art Gallery). So it does exist, just not the way you mean.

I'd be more inclined to go into the gallery if the entrance wasn't 4ft from a 5 lane highway.

The museum in Kitchener is named The Museum. We should be be just as bold and call it The Art.

Because then it'd be confused for that near-thrift store place in Jackson Square (if it's still there!)

I mean, the AGH was founded in 1914 so maybe they weren’t as concerned with acronyms. And after a century plus of history maybe a better acronym isn’t enough of a reason to change it.

HART = The Hamilton Art Gallery 
AGH = The Art Gallery of Hamilton

I mean, come on! I would totally be more inclined to go to our city's art gallery if I didn't see AGH written in big letters on King street.

AGH, why? Doesn't HART sound better? Was the budget only for 3 letters?
