Contractor wants to skip shower pan flood test. How does their waterproofing look?
Hey there, my tile contractor claims we don’t need to flood test their work which has me feeling uneasy. They said that we will have to wait a week after the water has been drained to guarantee there’s no moisture present for the tile work to begin.
So far, this is the waterproofing that’s been done:
- Preslope with liner on top
- Mortar with one coat (maybe 2? I can’t tell) of Hydro Barrier Plus.
I still want to move forward with the test, but does this waterproofing seem right for the pan? I feel like even with a liner we should still have two coats of hydro barrier by laticrete. To me, it looks like there’s only one.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
